🇨🇦 WHO IS THE GREATEST CANADIAN ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME?
Rush? The Tragically Hip? The Guess Who? April Wine? Or is there a Canadian band we're completely overlooking?
Join Mike Wixson and Paul on the Great Canadian Roadie Tour as they travel across Canada, debating the bands, artists and unforgettable songs that helped define Canadian rock and roll.
Recorded on the road between Calgary and Northern Ontario, this episode is an unscripted, sometimes hilarious journey through decades of Canadian music history.
From the pioneers of the 1960s and 70s to the arena rock giants of the 80s, alternative legends of the 90s and today's rising stars, Mike and Paul revisit the music that became the soundtrack to generations of Canadians.
🎸 THE BANDS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
The Guess Who • BTO • Rush • The Tragically Hip • April Wine • Trooper • Triumph • Loverboy • Honeymoon Suite • Platinum Blonde • Glass Tiger • Barenaked Ladies • Nickelback • Three Days Grace • Spirit of the West • The Beaches • July Talk and many more!
Plus Canadian icons including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, Kim Mitchell, Gowan and Avril Lavigne.
THE BIG DEBATE: Does international success make a band great? Or does being part of Canada's musical identity matter even more?
And what about the Canadian bands that became huge at home but never quite conquered the United States?
This is a road-trip conversation filled with music memories, friendly arguments, forgotten favourites and a few questionable recollections!
NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
Who belongs at the very top of Canada's all-time rock list?
Who did we forget? Who are we giving too much credit to?
Tell us in the comments. We might just revisit the rankings in another episode!
